Business Statistics: Case Assignment
This is an individual assignment.
Assume that you were working in a marketing research company, you needed to persuade your clients to conduct a new research project for their companies or organisations. Now, you were trying to kick off a research project for Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Campus*), one of your most important clients, to buy your research idea.
Proposal (5% of total module mark)
Your task is to decide the research topic you want to propose to Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Campus*).
You are requested to state the following details in the Project Proposal Form:
(i) The Project Title;
(ii) Project Objectives;
(iii) Target population – explain why this group of people is identified as the target population of the study;
(iv) Sampling method – explain why the proposed sampling method is the most appropriate one for the study, and illustrate the sampling procedure clearly;
(v) Sample size;
(vi) Sampling procedure – how the samples are selected and collected;
(vii) Survey method – explain why the proposed survey method is the most appropriate one for the study, and illustrate the survey procedure clearly; and
(viii) Questionnaire which should include the following:
a. the objectives of the questionnaire survey;
b. 10 to 12 questions only;
c. questions to collect data in at least 3 different levels: nominal, ordinal, interval and ratio;
d. at least 3 different types of questions: multiple-choice, text, rating, ranking, date and Likert;
e. open-ended questions are optional.
Submit the proposal to your tutor on or before 5: 00 pm, 1 Mar 2024 in week 27.
Late submission penalties are imposed as:
One day late
20% of total marks will be deducted
Two days late
50% of total marks will be deducted
Three days late
No marks will be awarded
