Assessment 1: Human Brands

Submission Date: 12 Noon on Wednesday 30th October

Submission Type: Poster (please submit using PDF & check it has uploaded correctly)

Marks: 20%

Purpose: This task is dual purpose. First, human brands are important, and sometimes difficult to manage. Marketers therefore need to understand them. Second, posters are increasingly being used in assessments and you will be asked to make several in much larger assessments in future modules. Hence this is a key skill to develop.

Preparation

Search for at least 3 academic journal papers on human brands. Conduct some internet research to find some examples of human brands. Select ONE human brand on which to base your assignment.

Your Task: 

Submit a 1-page poster that analyses the benefits and pitfalls of human brands and apply these to the human brand of your choice. Make some practical recommendations for brand managers who manage human brands.

Marking Scheme

Your marks will be based on:

· A critical evaluation of the academic literature on human brands. Depth of analysis is important here.

· Application of these concepts to your chosen brand.

· Practical recommendations.

· Quality of the poster including aesthetic design, colour pallet & font, communication ability, layout
