1. Introduction - a brief description of your project to explain what your project is about.
• a brief description of your project to explain what your project is about.
This project is to design alighting system (CRI>90) that can be used indoors for solar powered IoT devices. This system provides user adjustable colour temperature lighting by combining warm white LEDs and cool white LEDs.
2. The aim of your project and why you are doing it.
To design alighting solution to power IOT device that are powered by sollar cells, contributing to the sustainability of IoT devices
3. The objectives of your project
• including anticipated use of tools, equipment, labs to reach the aim. Is it analysis? Does it include design, build or manufacture, test?
To design a circuit consisting of 10 warm white (2700K) and 10 cool white (6500K) LEDs to achieve tunable white light.
To develop an aluminium PCB based on the circuit design to disspiate heat and mount the LEDS.
To design a PWM-based control circuit to control current in the LED arrays therpy controlling the CCT ofLEDs.
To test the CCT control from tunable white LED array by using sepectromerter and understand the colour mixing to achieve range of CCT values.
To test power generated from tunable white LED with solar cells to understand power generated from different CCT values.
4. The United Nations Sustainability Goals that the project supports.
• Read the Engineering Council Guidance on Sustainability first
https://www.engc.org.uk/sustainability then goo to https://sdgs.un.org/goalsto choose your UN goals. Explain why you are choosing these and later make sure you also use the logos.
7.Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all
12.Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns
5. Deliverables - a brief description of the anticipated outcomes from undertaking this project.
• a brief description of the anticipated outcomes from undertaking this project.
A circuit design with 10 warm white LEDs and 10 cools white LEDs, which providing tunable white light with CRI>90.
An aluminium PCB based on the designed circuit.
A PWM-based control circuit to control current in the LED arrays therpy controlling the CCT of LEDs.
A spectrometer test report.
A power analysis report that shows the power output of the tested tunable white LEDs and evaluates the difference in performance at different CCTs.
6. Outline Product or Task breakdown.
1. Circuit Design: Design the circuit with 10 warm white (2700K) and 10 cool white (6500K) LEDs.
2. PCB Design and Fabrication: Develop and fabricate an aluminium PCB with the LEDs.
3. Driver Design: Design a driver circuit to control the CCT by varying the current in the LED arrays.
4. Current Control: Vary the current in 2700K and 6500K for CCT adjustment.
5. Spectrometer Testing: Test the CCT by using a spectrometer.
6. Solar Cell Testing: Test the power, voltage and current produced from the solar cells at different CCT values. This will provide better understanding of the performance of solar cells.
7. Analysis and Reporting: Analyse the data and write a report.
