Assignment Lab 4
• Create a series RLC circuit with
✓ L = 1 uH, C = 1 uF
• Determine R for underdamped with a Q of about 10
• Anticipate what you expect for the voltage across the C:
✓ Number of cycles of ringing
✓ Period of the oscillations
• Simulate the voltage across the C over a time period to see at least the 10 oscillations before they die out.
• Show an example of underdamped, with a Q of 10, critically damped and over damped. Turn in a 1 page pdf summary: (pix and a few sentences)
✓ Provide a screen shot of your circuit and the simulated voltage waveforms
✓ Analyze the result: what is the period compared to what you expected? what is the ringing compared to what you expected?
