Due date: April 15 by 7:30 pm.

Our class will not meet on April 15 to give you time for submitting the mid-term exam.

Work alone or in groups of two. Only one set of submissions is required from each group

of two people if you decide to work in a group.

A link will be provided to upload all the files.

Problem description:

The additive manufacturing (AM) test artifact geometry is given at the website:

https://www.nist.gov/topics/additive-manufacturing/resources/additive-manufacturing-test- artifact

The website also has the design file in several formats. Recreate this design file using any design software and then 3D print the object using any material and 3D printing method.

You can download the test artifact measurement Excel file from the website and fill as many measurement fields as possible. Surface roughness does not need to be measured.

Submission will require:

1.   Original CAD file.

2.   Converted STL file.

3.   3D printed object. If you printed multiple iterations, you can submit either only the final output or all the printed parts.

4.   Feature measurements uploaded to a link that will be provided later.

5.   A report documenting your experience and observations of designing, printing and

measuring. Include images. If you printed apart more than once, document the issues

observed in each printing. Relate the outcomes to your input parameters. Report the post- processing steps. Comment on the capability of your selected printing method on the

quality of the part. The report should not be more than 3 pages.
